우리는 공간을 만들기 이전에, 늘 ‘삶을 어떻게 바라볼 것인가’
라는 근본적인 질문에서 출발한다.
사람이 매일 스쳐 지나가는 감각들
공예의 불완전한 미학, 아트의 태도, 여행에서 마주한 낯선 시선,
빛과 계절, 자연의 결, 그리고 하루의 작은 리추얼들이
결국 삶의 깊이와 밀도를 결정한다고 믿기 때문이다.
아카이브는 이러한 원천감각을 모아두는 곳이다.
우리는 공간이 너무 빠르게 읽히는 것을 경계한다. 한 번에
설명되는 장면보다 시간과 움직임에 따라 다른 감각이 드러나고,
사용하는 사람에게 해석의 여지가 남는 공간을 좋아한다.
기능에만 집중하면 삶은 편리하지만 무미건조해질 수 있고,
심미성만을 바라보면 순간은 아름답지만 오래 머무르기 어렵다.
우리는 그 사이에서 쓸모와 아름다움, 정제된 형태와 살아 있는 물성,
전체의 흐름과 작은 접점이 균형을 이루는 지점을 찾고자 한다.
쓸모와 아름다움이 만나는 지점에서
사람들의 삶을 조금 더 풍부하게 만드는 일.
